Check your console box lid hinge
04 SCrew with the standard interior. I would imagine that all of the interior console boxes could have the same problem. I was cleaning the interior this evening and saw the old piano hinge on the console lid. It has been an item of conflict with me and the Lincoln dealership as my Lincoln has this same POS. The rod that is inside the hinge will slide out and if it comes out enough, when you move the seat the rod will cut it open. Guess what? It ain't covered by warranty. Might want to check yours occasionally.

I gotta wonder how the thing could slide out on its own. When I took my console lid off I had to use a long nail and a hammer to push the rod out. Had to hammer it back in too. I wonder if it just loosens up over time?
