Alright guys, I've just bought a 2000 F350 crew cab dually 4X4. I have $3k to spend on a great looking tire, lift, and perhaps wheel purchase. I don't want to have to buy wheels, but if the fact that new mud tires are too wide,... then so be it, but,... I can't spend more than 3k total.
I want to be able to do some muddin,... here in Texas we got places comin outa our ears for that kind of stuff. I also want at least a 4 inch additional lift than I have right now. I want a tire that will look aggresive and perform well off road, but last a long time for on road use.
I've looked at Fabtech lifts, and Skyjacker,... they look pretty good, but I need to see if I can't get some good prices. If you guys know of some places with the cheapest prices ever... PM me, it will be very greatful.
Donahoe Racing 4.5" kit with their signature shocks. You won't be dissappointed.
I haven't heard much about Donahoe Racing,... are they a good company to deal with? Give me some more info. Perhaps a website to see specs and pricing. More information would be great.
instead of superlift or some other junk like that i'd recommend a custom leaf pack from deaver or national spring co. They make the best leaf packs available, and your truck will probably ride better than stock, depending on your requirements. For shocks you cant go wrong with bilstein's.
I like Donahoe Racing lifts, but they cost an arm and a leg. To put a 4.5" DR lift w/Bilsteins, new brake lines, 6 BFG MT's (stock size 235/85R16's,) and a DR dual steering stabilizer on my '04 Dually was around $3200.00 without installation. Installation cost around $35.00 for 2 sockets and a wrench I didn't have (this price doesn't include the approx. $100.00 I had to donate to the swear jar at $.25 per word). And took about 10 hours. You looked at Fabtech and Skyjacker which are good. I've also heard good things about Full Traction (www.full-traction.com) and BDS (www.bds-suspension.com). Like I mentioned above, I run BFG's and they're one of the more reasonably price aggressive tire. Unfortunately with a 16x6 rim good tires that will fit on the rim and not have a less than E load rating are hard to come by. All the aftermarket rims for the dually's are also 16x6. If load rating is not a problem, Interco has the Super Swamper SSR in a 35x10.5 that will fit on our rims nicely without having to worry about rolling a tire off the rim.
I bought a set of used 16x10's eagle aluminum wheels for 200 bucks, decent mud tire(305's) for 650 mounted on said wheels. Used leveling kit for 225, going to sell old tires for some 315's. If you look around for decent deals you can save yourself some cash unless it HAS to be new. Then you could have some added cash for a spray in liner, HID lights, and a decent stereo on top of that.
