4.9L, '95, bucks in first gear, second gear, and sometimes third gear at low speeds,
First starting, it runs smooth as a race horse, then gradually you can feel and hear a miss, then it gets worse, and finally, after about a minute or so, it gets so bad it'll turn the beer to foam. I've ruled out bad valves, compression, vacuum leak, spark plugs and tune-up parts. Platinum Truck Plugs were burnt after only about 5k miles. {replaced now}. Same with the distributor cap and rotor. I'm going to change the wires after work today. But, just in case, how can I tell if the distributor bearings/bushings are bad, causing an uneven 'spin' and wrong clearances between the cap and rotor? Sounds like a steady miss at any speed. Forget the distributor? Heck the hoss only has about 53k miles on it.
Please respond via email, also, if you could. I hardly ever get to make it here any more.
