i love fords to death, but i still do not believe that a 150 could stand up to that type of abuse. heck, i dont think my '80 250 could stand up to having two dozers push into it like that.
Hey guys- I work for a Case dealer here in Michigan, and we have 2 Case 1850K's in our yard if anyone would like to bring a truck over, we could give it a shot... Funny thing is, we have the same trucks (SCREWS not 4 doors) same color for our company trucks...
You guys seen the other one where there's a boat stuck way out off a boat launch ramp?
A dude in a F150 comes in to the rescue and pulls out an Escalade that's completely submersed underwater along with the boat still hooked up on its trailer...
Have You guys seen the frame on the new f-150 it is huge I can see it taking some serious abuse my father in law just bought a brand new one and it is like they say FORD IS THE BEST Edited by Admin
Sure I have one, lol. I used to crash cars for a living and when I saw the commercial I called BS right away. Without a doubt the front doors would have been a bit difficult to open if this was a real deal. The front fenders don't need much from a frontal to push them into the front doors making some kind of difficulty to open even if minor. The only thing that truck had going for it was that it had 3 pillars. A-pillar is the front that windshield is glued too, B is the next, in this case it's the pillar that holds the rear doors and then it's got a C, the rear cab corner. These really help a vehicle more then you'd think. My point is that if they had tried this with an extended cab with no middle pillar, you would have seen the cab really buckle and those actors dressed as scientist probably wouldn't have got out without a crowbar. Either way this test was a total generated situation.
If anyone wants more info on tested vehicles check out the NCAP ratings at nhtsa. These are no BS and follow strict guidelines that are hard to challenge. If a car gets a bad rating it's no fluke because the manufacturer has the option challenge and retest. I know of a few that got 4 star rating that retested to see if they could get 5 so you can best your behind the crumby ones were tested more then once.
Ignoring the fact that it probably wouldn't have happened that way.. The point of the commercial is to show Ford taking notice that the previous generation of f150 was not one of the safest out there and made changes to improve it!
It must be a regional commercial, have not seen it in this area.
Dont think so Tim.
There's guys commenting on it from all over North America and Australia...
I kind of missed the point of it, It aint every day you hear of someone in between two dozers like that they are usually smacking into someone at 70 MPH..
and the hanging one too... I am fairly sure you could hang almost any truck, (aside from a plastic-boxed Toyota) from it's box like that.
The Superbowl one sounds cool.... wish I'd seen that one
