I have 1989 f250 with a 460 and a c6 trans my problem is i keep getting a code 18 which is loss of tach signal to computer has anyone had this problem? could this be a broken wire to the computre or a problem with the computer?I can clear the code but after i drive the truck about 3 miles it will come back

Have a look at the TFI Module wiring . How many miles on the truck ? Try clearing the codes and enter the engine running test , wiggle the wires , lightly tap the TFI Module and see it sets the code .

The truck has 80,200 miles on it i tried wiggel test on the wires and tapping on the ignition module and nothing happens i did clear the code and did a engine run test and it did pass
