Tranny is out, should I replace...
I have the t-18 tranny out of my truck to place the clutch. while it's out should I replace the input and output gaskets and/or bearings? Also what kind of gear oil should I put in it?

How has the tranny been running? Any noises, whining, etc? Any leaks? Rotating the input and output shafts, do they feel smooth? Do they have any play in them? Not sure what else to look for.....but give some more details. I don't think I would replace the bearings unless they was a problem with them. JMO.

I think the tranny is ok. sometimes I can't shift into 3rd but I think it might be because the shifter is kinda sloppy. any way to fix that? I didn't see any leaks. seems to turn ok. kinda sounds like the bearings might be have dirt in them though, It has about 117k on it. it's out of my 76 f150 with a 360.
