Neutral safety switch

hey guys i have not even tried to figure this one out yet i figured it would be better to ask you guys before i "F" something up. my netural safety switch will sometimes not allow me to start in park (66 with 352 and c-6 auto.) what do i need to do so i don't have to jiggle the handle, or put it in "N" to start.

Check to see if the switch is tight. Check to see if the column bearings are good (especially the bottom one). Adjust the switch by loosening the retaining screws and sliding it.

thanks, one of these days i'll check it out. i've been putting it off for quite some time. Lately I automaticly put it in "N" with out even thinking about it. Today it's at the shop for a state inspection, the mechanic had a battery charger on for two hours, and tried to start it again and still wouln't crank. thank god he called me instead of pulling the starter or something. Anyway sounds like an easy enough fix. It's probably loose, every other screw in the truck has been loose so far.
