oil leak

oil leak

Folks, I have a 89 F250 7.3 that has started to leak oil from the back of the drivers side head. I can`t quite see where it is coming from. There is a braided hose that connects to the block and goes (?). It doesn`t look like its leaking from there. What could it be other that a valve cover gasket. What else is back there that would leak oil. Help............... please! It just drips down from the back of the head onto the exhaust pipe flange, one drip every5 seconds or so when the engine is running. Thank you.

Oil cooler o-ring failure is the most likely culprit.

Thanks for the thought but the oil cooler is new and the leak is coming from the back of the drivers side head.

first make sure its motor oil .... look into the valley pan and see if the pan is wet, fuel leak from pump or fuel line. (There is a drain line from the valley pan back behind the enigne, but I cant remember which way it goes from there.) I'd guess its the valve cover gasket if it is motor oil OR the head gasket is taking crap. Driver side valve cover gasket isnt so bad to change.
