Obviously, there are no dealerships that have them, at least that I can find. Anyone in Michigan, preferable the west michigan area have one? I want to check one out / ride / drive maybe???? Just wondering. Or anyone with experience with a torqshift vs 6 speed. I have had a 03 V10 with the auto, and a 04 diesel right now with the auto. Considering selling and buying another 10 though, save $ on payments and few other things here and there.
I think you may have to special-order one with the 6 speed. i know i had to. The ride is nice(for a 1-ton), but the low gear can cause a bit of confusion if you have never driven a 6 speed before.
I just got my new truck (had to be special ordered) on Friday 5/13). It is a 2005 F350 V10 with the 6-speed transmission. It is a Lariat FX4, with the 142" wheelbase (supercab, short bed). Since I got it, I have driven it 380 miles and absolutely love it. The power is impressive - very smooth and linear. It is surprising that a truck that size can get up and go so quickly. I have the 4.10 rear and it seems to match the 6-speed very nicely. I'm sure that the 4.30 would similar.
I live in Maine, so giving you a test drive is pretty much out of the question. There must be someone around where you live that has one - maybe try calling up a dealership and asking them if they have sold any such trucks? I know that they can't disclose who they sell to, but I'm sure they could give you information on roughly how many V10 MTs there are out there. Good luck - if you find one, you will love it.
Ive got one, just northwest of Chicago. Believe me, you wont be disappointed. We had to special order ours, it is optioned out almost exactly like MattamiscontisME's truck, and we have been amazed by the power and towing ability. The MPGs just keep going up too. You wont be let down with one.
I have checked with all the dealers around here, only one has had a v10 6 speed and they sent it out of state to another dealer. Heck, I could only find a couple V10's total. I took a silver CC auto w/ 4.10's out today, still would like to try a maunal. The guy told me to not even bother looking, I wont find it unless its special ordered. Either way, I'm looking at going with the 4.30's unless I decide on a sport, which seems to only allow me the 4.10s (and auto obviously). The truck is either going to be a reg. cab or subercab short box, definitely leaning towards supercab unless $ is really tight, then I'll settle for a reg cab.
Texas - what kind of mileage you getting? I'm getting 12 with my 04 6.0 right now. Give its on 36" iroks, 6" lift, and 500lbs of road armor replacement bumpers and such. I've had other claim upper teens with a similar set up. I'd have to see it to believe it, even stock I averaged ~16.5 driving it easy. If I end up keeping it I'll regear it but chances are I'm going to sell it and keep a v10 shorter.
Predator - I'll second (or third -maybe more like fourth) the above. I special ordered an F350 V10 6 spd dually without ever test driving one, and its great. However, mine is for the one specific purpose making use of the 15K towing capability to tow a boat.
I wonder though with your moniker (Predator) if perhaps you are looking for a road monster, and while I personally enjoy the 6-spd, it definitely isn't a speed shifter. Otherwise, its a blast.
mine is a automatic with 4:10's . i made the mistake of not listening to fredvon4 and should have gotten the 30's as every one with seems to be 1 to 2 more mpg then me but i'm still getting 11.6 to 12.4 city highway so i'm happy. no really big trips yet so i can't say highway mpg's
check out my gallery its a supercab swb larait my otd price with the rebates was 32,308
good luck. they are great machines

Nah, not looking for too much of a road monster. The name came from when I had a 99 Trans Am WS6, that was the monster. I just kept using the name after that. That, and I like the predator movies too.
Had to special order mine, 05 250 SC 4:10 6speed v10. there wasn't any around on the east coast at the time. Can't wait till it finally gets fixed to see if I like it!
I know it's a long way off, but Ken Stoepel Ford in Kerrville,TX has an 05 CC SWB 4X4 lariat with a V10 and a 6sp. I very seriously considered buying this truck but went with an auto instead. I'm very happy with e TS tranny. Besides I really didn't want all the extra optioins that truck has. I just checked fordirect.com and it's still listed in their stock. Good luck finding the truck you want.

The truck now has around 2000 miles on it. The first 700 were all highway miles coming home from VB Ford in NY. On the highway, running between 67-80 depending on traffic I got in the neighborhood of 13-13.5. Once it got home, and was driven around town for a few weeks, the mileage was at 11.5-12 around town. The first tow of 6500lbs, at 1000 miles got around 10mpg in windy conditions. (Needless to say the thing towed like an absolute animal) After that tow, with the trailer unhooked the truck really seemed to have "woken up" and running unloaded around town the mileage remained at 11.5 or 12. Highway mileage is around 13 unloaded, 13.5 depending on speed. The MPGs slowly seem to be creeping up the more the motor is broken in. Power just keeps increasing as the truck is driven more and more, and I am sure I will see 14-14.5 mpg on the highway unloaded.
I have the same story to tell, there were no V10, 6-speeds on any dealer lots in the state of Pennsylvania, so I had to order one. The wait is painful ,but worth it. The nice part of ordering is that you can get the truck the way you want it.

If you are persistent you can get a dealer trade too, most dealers will always want to sell what's on their lot, because they're paying interest on them. But a dealer trade is essentially offing one vehicle for another. Have your dealer do a search, or go to the Ford web-site and locate what you want, take it to a dealer and say; "here is the truck I want, get it for me".
