I've contacted several web parts dealers and no one can find the Synchronizer. They ask me what's the Ford Part Number for it.
Can someone give me the part number for the Synchronizer and also
the part number for the special positioning tool? Thanks a million!
I'm going to try my hand at doing the work myself. I know almost nothing
about what I'm doing but want to learn and I have a Haynes manual.

The Cam Synchronizer's Base Part # is 12A362 (i.e., xxxx-12A362-x) for the 3.0L vulcan engine and is a dealer-only part; several people have tried to get it aftermarket online and/or through their local parts stores but could not.
The Syncro Positioning Tool (Part # T96T-12200-A) is also hard to come by in parts stores, and if you try to get it from Ford you will get hammered. I recommend trying to find one online or on eBay:
Many people have performed the Synchro replacement repair without using the positioning tool. I assume you have read through this thread, it has a lot of information on the subject:
Thanks a million, Rock. The website you gave wants about $55 for a package of the tools but it wants almost $50 for shipping (Hawaii). I took your other suggestion and found the tool on eBay for about $15 and $7 postage. You saved me a lot of $$$$$!!!!!
