Shift cable problem?
It is a 92 F-150, 5.0 & AOD, 2 wheel drive with 175,642 miles. I can no longer put the transmission in park. The selector pin does not line up with the corresponding letters on the column. This has been a sudden change just yesterday. On the trans, there is really no adjustment that I can find. Is the shift cable bad?

Sounds like the little cable inside the column may need adjusting or replacement. Is the vehical physically in park but the letter and the selector pointer don't line up?

No, The transmission will not go into park. It is like the shift lever does not have enough travel any more.
