Cool diablo problem

Is anyone else having a problem with diablo sport programer? i have a 2003 ford 6.0 diesel 3/4 on. I have tried to program my truck with the programer, i get a message on the screen, i need to go to my ford dealer and get a update, I went cost me 79.00, tried to use the programer same message. I called motorhaven talked to staff and support 4 times, no help. I have called diablo tech & support 7 times, nothing done. diablo says that ford took my money for nothing, why did diablo machine tell me this is what needed to be done then? Diablo tells me there is a update or download comming out on tuesday, this is going on for 34 days. dose anyone have any ideas? As of now i have a blue green box with a cord hanging out of it and no help and no support.

Let me ask you a question.... if you buy a TV from Best Buy and the TV doesn't tune to channel 11, is that something Best Buy can fix? Nope.

Same goes with Predators. Motorhaven (and other Diablo dealers) cannot change the tunes in the Predator. Only Diablo can do that (and they make the changes available for download on their website.

Here is the problem with your truck: There are a few early stock Ford tunes that have known problems. By now, most people should have had them updated due to TSBs being flagged during regular maintenance work at dealers. The Predator, rather than trying to work a bad stock tune, tells you to get the truck updated. It sounds like either a) the dealer didn't update it or b) the dealer didn't update it to a recent tune but instead to another known bad, early tune, or c) there is a brand new update out from Ford (unlikely because we usually hear about it here!) that the Predator doesn't recognize.

If its (c) Diablo as well as other tuning companies, updates their tuners to support new PCM codes after a short R&D period.

Thumbs down

But If Best Buy Says This Tv Plays Channel 11 And It Dosent, They Do Something About It Rather Then Give You Another Number And Person To Call, This Says On The Package This Will Work On A 2003 Ford 6.0 Diesel, No Where Dose It Say You Have To Wait 34 Days For A Update, Or You Must Take It To Your Dealer And Spend Another 79.00 For A 2nd 79.00 Update. I Hae Been Told For 34 Days Watch For A Update, I Have Been Watching,or They Will Post It On Next Tuesdays Updates. Tuesday Is The Day Diablo Dose The Download Updates. Motorhaven Should Tell We Cant Do Anything About This. Not You Have To Talk To This Tech Guy Or Support. I Hae Spent Hours On Hold Waitng To Talk To People. That Is After I Get Punch In The Numbers, If I Want It In English, Or Checking On A Shipment, Or Do I Want To Talk To Whoever. The Instruction Say It Is Eas To Install Just Plug It In And Answer The Prompted Questions. Diablo Says That Dosent Have To Be Tuned By Ford, They Know There Is A Problem And I Have Been Waiting For The New Down Load, 25 Days.

I'm going to answer as best I can and hope I address everything. Your post is extremely difficult to read and follow.

There are a few 2003 trucks still left out there with defective PCM codes: yours is one of them. Not MotorHaven's fault, not Diablo's fault. Your dealer may have ripped you off on a reflash. Not MotorHaven's fault, not Diablo's fault.

You didn't spent hours on hold with Motorhaven --- I know that for a fact because I run the office. I'd be surprised if anyone has ever been on hold for more than 5 minutes.

Its not Motorhaven's (my company) fault nor Diablo's that you never got your truck updated and that the dealer may have ripped you off on the update. I understand you are frustrated but venting on Motorhaven is unfair and it looks like you're looking to put the blame on us because its an easy target. Why don't you go raise hell with the dealer for this, and for not informing you after 2 years of ownership that there are known problems with early flashes and that your truck should have been updated then (for free)?

I would aim any frustation at your local Ford Stealer or Diablo. I am having trouble with my predator also and calls to diablo have left me thinking it will be going on E-bay.......
