1986 bronco2 just started pulling hard to the right..not when I hit hit the brakes but just driving..happened just on the way home..I jacked up that side thinking the wheel was frozen but it turns(kinda stiff) its pouring rain so I have to wait till morning to work on it..any ideas what it could be?? I gotta be to work by noon..50 miles away..if I dont get it fixed..I'm screwed....what should I check first??any help appreciated
If it's not spinning properly the wheel bearing might be bad, you would have to pull the bearing out and inspect it. If the brakes are dragging you would find one of the pads worn much more than the other and the piston might be hard to push back in.
Suspension would be checking for bent/damaged parts, loose ball joints or tie rod ends.
Shocks won't have anything to do with it unless there broken.
I think its the caliper sticking I got it jacked up and the tire off..it spins real slow and when I hit the brakes it gets stuck..details to follow lol
Mine did that too last summer. Except first mine did it with the right, and then that went away, then to the left. On the left side, it got so hot from friction (brakes) that it caught on fire. I had to replace calipers, rotors, and lines. But it was fun putting out the fire. I didn't know it was on fire until the person at the pump next to me pointed it out (I was filling up with gas lol).
