I was always told that a 351 had 2 more bolts in the intake. I have a 351w in a Mustang and it has 12 bolts in the intake. The 302 in my truck has 12 also. So I guess that wasn't true about the difference. I guess you need to look up casting #'s.
The EGR vlave bolts directly to the manifold on a 351W. On a 302 the EGR connects to the carb spacer. The other way you can tell is that the manifold is quite larger then the 302.
Most everything else though is the same. I do believe the block is the same but the heads are not.
the 302 has a 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 firing order and the 351 has 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 but if your engines been rebuilt it might be a 351w with a 302 cam, in which case it would have the 302 firing order.
