got a phone call this afternoon from the genral manger at boyer ford. and he told me that there is going to be a recall for all 6.0s. the recall is for wireing harness and injectors. they are starting to get the replacement parts know and the the recall is to be released the first part of june. anybody else here this?
Just checked on FMCDealer; it hasn't showed up yet on FSA's. Haven't been to work in a few days, if this is recent...It may be that the service managers have been informed via phone/email before this has been published. I'll find out for sure, but frankly, I am not a bit surprised.
Just curious, why would the general mgr. make this call? A personal friend? On another note, are they following GM's lead when they extended the warranty on their injectors?
Are they finally taking th high road to satisfy, or attempt to satisfy Ford loyalists? Something prompted them to do this, if it's true. Such as an abnormal amount of injector failures, or negative press.
had my wiring harness replaced at 5200 miles and was just in for 12000 mile check up and didn't hear anything about a recall. When they replace mine had to wait 10 days to get a new harness due to so many back orders. huntercgr will checking out your country in a few days we are headed to Halfway to spend a few days , a long way from home(Breaux Bridge, La.)

the general mgr calls me all the time regarding issues like this.
and the reason he calls me instead of the service mgr is that i used to buy all my class 8 trucks from boyer ford when they made the LTL 9000 a wonderful construction
bulit truck. and know the sell sterling which is junk. and when i mean trucks im talking 15-20 trucks a year(trade out for new every other year). but the stiil do my service work on cat engines. service mgr says the recall is for wireing harnes and pcm update.
maybe one knows more than the other or less i dont know but he said it will start in july not june.
Mine runs perfect! I don't want them to touch it! You all be the Guinea pigs for me. I'll hold out as long as I can. No PCM updates! No PCM updates! No PCM updates! No PCM updates!
Quick Martha, Hand me down my shootin iron! There's a Ford tech that wants to look unner my hood. They'll get my truck and guns only after I've plum run out'a bullets, (and that won't be any time soon), when they peal my cold dead fingers off'n the steering wheel and buttstock.

i am sorry it came across like that. i simply ment we can be a little softer in tone. useing internet speak and still get how one feels across.
i know how many people feel about a dealership tech. and their vechicles. thats because i am one. uncle sam trained me and i've been one since for over 40 years. i have turned wrenches, been a adviser, a service manager and back to a plain old wrench trying to help people out with their problems.
if any user of this area has a problem with me. pm me and we will work it out .
if i feel some one is in need of a hand slap.it will not come from me but from some one in admin. i am new"not to fte" and will make some mistakes. i'm only human
I konw what you mean about techs touching your truck. Went in for the snap ring recall and had to make 2 trips back to the dealer for a tranny fluid leak. Seems the tech did a sloppy clean-up job after rebuiling the tranny and the excess fuid was dripping down the bell housing. At least the dealership picked up the rental, but a Taurus instead of a Powerstroke...........Give me a break.

What is the purpose of this incoherent message? To brag about your perceived qualifications or to defend some earlier criticisms for a "non-soft" tone? I don't get it. I am shocked that now we have "tone-police," if that is the case. But back on topic, I do look forward to learning of these recalls. I wonder every day whether this truck will last 10 years or if I should get out now. I'm a little worried, frankly. Mine rattles and still stears crooked after 5 fixes, the idle still goes up and down with good oil levels. I'm thinking 1993 Dodge Cummins may be the the way to go.
First, Sorry if I double posted this topic, but I talked to the SM at the dealership today trying to get my truck fixed. He thought the recall may apply to my truck, and may fix some of the issues with my truck. He had heard from the district rep the recall was for a engine stutter. That may be a precursor to my problems. Not sure. Sounds like the info my SM gave me is similiar to what you received from the GM.
By the way, a lot of people rag on the techs, but, I am finding out, most techs would rather spend the time and effort to fix the truck right, than see it back in the shop every couple of days with the same complaints. Ford is the roadblock to good service. A good example of this is the policy warranty parts are returned to ford for checking. If a tech replaces a electronic module that acts up intermittently, sends it back to ford, and they don't get it to act up, the dealership has to pay for it. Needless to say, dosn't take much figuring on anyones part to realize that ford can easily bend a dealership over backwards. Legitimatly or not!
