I have a bet mat with the Ford Logo along with a tailgate mat. Even though these do help. You still have to be careful not to scratch the side and the front of the bed. I personally like the bed mat better from a looks perspective. I guess it come down to what youplan to use your truck for! Only one suggestion on bed mats, make sure you get one that has the little supports underneath. This allows for good adequate water drainage, and any damp areas to dry out. No moisture gets trapped underneath!
I ordered a mat for my 05 supercrew online from truckcustomizers.com. It's thick and heavy, I'll never wear it out since I rarely carry anything in the bed. It's made by a company called Trail FX and I got it for $45.59. The tail gate mat was $24.99. The bed mat fit perfectly, the tail gate mat was the wrong size and I sent it back right away, still waiting for the correct one.
I have gone through JC Whitney to buy my last two. They are called "Duraliners" and are about 1/4" thick and nice and heavy. Cost was $70 or $80 I think. I really like these mats. Had the last one for about 3 years, hard to even scuff. This time I have the Line-X and the rubber mat.
Yep, that's what I'm going to do. I have the Line-X spray in and am getting the Penda Bed Mat. Buying protection for the protection!!!
I'm just really cheap about it, I put the rubber mat from my old truck into this truck. Thing is though my old truck was a Ranger--so the liner is obscenely tiny for this truck.
It works well enough for me. I've never been big on protecting the bed, but that's how I am.
