My dads '94 I-6 4.9L has bad lifters and needs the Rods replaced, (if I remember right, sounds like a diesel at present state!) about $2000cdn worth of repairs... at only 100,000kms
Are there any troubles with these motors?
I myself have never been a Ford "fan" GO DODGE
I know, that would be taboo but...
If anyone has thoughts/suggestions please email me or reply...
thanks in advance

Howard ,
I must say with only 100,000 Km , 60,000 miles , you shouldnt have lifter troubles . What weight oil is he using ? How often is the oil changed ? Any abuse ? I know things are more $$$$ in Canada , but $2000 to replace lifters and push rods is a bit steep . I assume you mean push rods and not connecting rod bearings ? Need a few more details before I can make any suggestions .
