Somewhere on here i read how to fix death wobble on kingpin 60 by putting washers in the king pin ends.....Can some one give me a detailed description on how to do this............
unbolt the 4 bolts on top of the king pin cap, drop in 1/8" thick (about) spacer on top of the spring whether it be a few bumper washers or a small piece of tube cut to 1/8" thick or anything else you think might work. then just bolt the caps back on
If that isn't clear enough to a search for it here in the offroad section. Back when fishy was having problems with it I outlined it pretty clearly in a post and the cure worked for him. Its really just as simple as fishy outlined, provided everything else (tre's) are in good shape.
Thank you both all your information has been a big help......Should i wait and see if i get DW or should i just go ahead and do the mod now.......Im one part away from starting my SAS.....
What size tires will you be using? If you plan on running large tires then it would be smart to add more preload to the spring as a preventitive measure. If your going to be running small tires, say, a 38" on down you probably don't need the extra preload. Its enough enough to add it later if you find you need it.
