Ford 8.8" limited slip / E-locker?
I'm on deployment in Iraq for the Army Guard, and today is my day off, so I'm pondering ideas to fix up my truck. I've been thinking about buying an Eaton (or similiar) E-locker for the rear differential of my 89 F-150 4x4. Right now it has an open 8.8", which is just horrible when we go hunting and the snow is deeper than the tires. Only one wheel spins...and it's the most useless wheel.
I've looked all over, and found a few used lockers online, but I can't find a price for a new one. I am mechanically enclined, but I'm not sure what it would take to install one of these, or how much install would typically cost.
Maybe a limited slip would be better than a locker?
What do you guys think? I'm going stir crazy here in Iraq.
