Planning NEW F150 purchase

I'm planning my purchase of a new F150 (my first 4x4) and would like some feed-back on the following line of "thought".

I've got my eye on a Lariat, S-crew, 5.4L, 3.73, 4x4, but I'm not sure what rear end option to go with. Here's my thinking (crazy or not) - get the new truck with an Open rear end and install an E-Locker, instead of getting the LS rear end.

Realistically, the new truck will mostly see Hwy. usage (Open diff.) - lots of standing water on the roads here in La. The off-roading will be mostly during hunting season traveling muddy roads, pulling trailer w/ ATV's, boat and the occasional foray into a muddy field (E-Locker).

Whata ya think ???? (maybe installing an E-Locker would void the warranty then this would all be moote.)

It can only void the warranty if the E-Locker is the direct cause of the malfunction

I would recommend the 3.73 limited slip.

I've never owned a truck with LS, so I'm wondering if this line of though (top post) make sense?

Driving on roads with standing water, you get a lot of wheel slip - under this condition would the LS constantly be engaging and dis-engaging?

My thinking always was if you have 4WD available the Limitied slip Differential isn't useless, but in a lot of cases, its redundant. As an option on the 2WD model i think it is certainly worth the money. I considered it when I ordered my new F-150 4x4 and I would have liked it, but in the end i felt that i could do without it. Not as much standing water on the roads here in upstate NY, but lots of white ***** (snow) and slush.
