Anyone got a picture of what the spare tire holder is supose to look like on a slick?
Mine has been missing since I bought it, and I have been looking to practice my welding, so I thought I might try making one out of some scrap I have, but I have no idea how the original looked or worked.
It's basically a flat piece of stamped steel with a hole on one end and a depression on the other end shaped like an old fashioned keyhole in a door. It has a flat piece of steel welded on it in the center to center the spare. The end with the small hole uses a long bolt and nut to hold it up to the frame. The other end has a long bolt with a big washer and eyelet shaped to the end. You loosen that bolt and move it over and the carrier and tire will drop down. Why not get the setup from a 73-96 Ford F-series and use that? It will fit.
