Haller folding knife. Good?

It's maked HALLER on the blade and stamped 440 stainless. The handle apears to be real wood, but I don't know what kind, and the metal ends of the handle are some kind of yellowish metal, which looks like its kinda tarnished. What can I clean that with? The blade is thick and heavy, but could use some shapening. It's about 8" overall length.
So how did I do?

Yours appears to be a more finely finished one than that shown. -It does look like a beautiful piece of work. The metal ends would be brass, any good brass cleaner/polish should do well. They will need periodic touching up, but less if it is well cared for and oiled. The blade being stainless - you have a particularly good buck skinner there.
It is a German brand, and is considered well made.
I note that there is "Haller" and there is also "Haller Messer" (Messer is the german word for 'knife')
Today you have introduced me to another fine knife manufacturer, and I want to thank you for that! My prime source is Gerber, BUCK just turned out to be a pain in the backside to sharpen - even though they are popular. My best kitchen knives, the ones I love and use the most, are carbon steel because they take an edge quickly. In the field, you want an edge that stays true without a lot of time spent getting it back to slim. 440 will hold a fine sharpening for a long time.
I recommend google and other searches for more info -
May I suggest "METACRAWLER"?

PS ONEDIT: Based on what I have seen so far, I'm inclined to say "Austgetzeitnent!!"
Das ist ein grosse gut messer...
