Meter install

Just received my Pyrometer, trans temp and boost gages. Directions show several options on install. What is the best way to install ?

Does boost gauge splice into an existing pressure hose with a T fitting or does it have to be connected somewhere in the engine compartment ?

How does pyrometer connect. Do I need to weld in the fitting or is using the stainless strap and hole a easier application ?

Do you have to cut holes in existing pillar plastic to fit wires behind ?

On my 04 f-250 the boost splice into the the hose, as for the Pyrometer I drill and tap the manafold. And I did not use a pillar mount for my gauges I have boost and pyro build into one unit digital read out. My .02 and Welcome to FTE.

Is the left side when you are sitting in the truck or facing the engine standing outside. Having trouble finding the hose

John,

The map sensor hose is on the left side of the engine if u R facing it. It is located on the top back side passenger valve cover and comes straight up and bends to the left and ties in to the sensor by the rubber hood gasket and has a black wire tie and split-loom cover over the hose. I used the t-fitting supplied w/ mine but tieing into the map sensor made the turbo guage clatter and vibrate. I re installed the hose and drilled a 1/8 npt hole into the intake elbow and put a brass 90 degree fitting. If U R facing the engine, their is a flat spot on the back side of the elbow. it works perfect and shows 2lbs more boost. there are detailed pics at the dieselstop.com or dieselmanor.com and search for turbo boost guage.
