Well its been almost a month but the beast was released today new engine (bedplate leak) now no turbo droan either guess I'll just have to suffer with out it this is sooooooo kewl I've been waiting for this truck for 23 months (originally purchased in 6/03) I just hope the problems are all behind me the dealership and ford have been very good to work with I just don't want to work with them I want to enjoy my 40K investment well gotta go the truck is getting lonely
remember no high revs no hard starts no racing every dodge/chebby/ ricer this is going to be difficult back to breakin mode
Ford had my 05 for 3.75 weeks for a 5R trans rebuild, 'and' the rear end for a carrier bearing failure both at 2K.. 6K now, and the trans is on the way out again.. Sure hate to give'r up for a week or two.... This trans has really been a 'pebble' in my shoe, but really enjoy the truck... Good luck with the new mill..
Well after two whole days of driving bliss I am seeing signs of contentment on the horizon I will be going on a short trip tomorrow and will check the mpg's seems already as good as the 2/04 engine and should only improve from here Boy it sure is nice not to have that turbo vib at 1200-1700 rpm nice and quiet like a diesel should be nothing but the rattle of the injectors ect. I can live with that LOL Hey I have noticed a new sound when stepping on the throttle I hear a whine almost like a fan belt but it seems also to have injector noise is this from the fuel system?? maybe I'm not sure don't mind it I'm just so paranoid that I listen for every little sound and try to catalog it sooooooon I'll be content to just drive I hope then I'll have to change my name to IGTARLTRK would'nt that be grand well family time calls don't forget to buy the wife an extra case of oil or that new programmer for mothers day
O.K. I took a 350 mile trip sunday had to go see mom good a reason as any to help break in the new engine
1. ran great
2. 15.6 hand calc. fuel milage speed 65-70 average willamette valley for the most part flat a few hills but no real challenge
I could get used to this real easy I hope this is the end of my trials with the 6.0
will be at 1k by the weekend so will probably hookup the 5th wheel and take it for a spin the mileage with this new engine is already as good as before with less miles however the lie-o-meter seems to bee off by about 1.5-2.0 mpg any way to cal this device?
Well I expressed my concern with the reliability of this drivetrain (per my experiences) FMC has provided a 5yr 75k warr. for my truck non x-ferable of course hey I just happy its running good (GREAT ACTUALLY) finally persistance and beleif in ford seems to have paid off first tow will be this weekend going up the mtns camping long uphill grade going there we'll see how it responds but everything is looking good. you all have a good memorial day and don't forget to stop and thank the boys wherever they may be for giving of themselves that we can sleep soundly here knowing that we are being watched over
well we took the 5er out for the weekend 561 miles round trip went from about 50ft elev to almost 5800ft elev round trip mileage 9.6 hand calc. not bad for towing approx 12k left the h2O out until we got near our camp all but about 40 of these miles had the trailer attached the truck performed well I think I've finally got a keeper good luck to those who may still be experienceing prob's keep good doc. and find a good dealer/svc dept that will stick to their guns for you if this keeps up I'm going to start thinking about some mod's guage's cat back exhaust pasted two trucks that had nice exhaust mod's sounded great made me want one reallllllllll bad
