I'm Back..........again!

Well its been awhile since I posted here, but I thought I might as well give you an update, or the lack of updates, whatever. Well I've just now gotten back at it, my '77 is getting ready to be worked on again. After a starter failure, main seals, and valve seals all hit me at once last winter i ended up just stuffing the truck in a garage where it sat up until about 1 month ago. I pulled it out, found oil all over the ground, . Wasn't really suprised. But now that the ford truck gods have decided to shift my way for awhile, I've got some extra cash that wants to be spent! I got ahold of a local guy who is an engine guru who is going to rebuild the top end of the engine for me as well as just check for anything that may be failing soon. All I'm wanting to do right now is get it running again. I'll go back through and upgrade bigger as time goes on. But while the engine is getting rebuilt I'm gonna try to get the truck and get some body work on it. It needs it pretty bad on the bed. Its the point I believe where its going to be cheaper to find a new bed to put on rather than try to patch this one. And while I'm at it I'll be getting the back half of the frame blasted and painted. This is a LOW BUDGET build. I'm trying to just get her in runable condition so I can atleast drive the thing. Anyone know of a bed for sale? I'm not looking for a picture perfect thing, just something that isn't swiss cheese. Thanks and leave your thoughts!

Welcome back. Is it a short bed or a long bed? I have a steel flatbed short bed I am trying to get rid of.

Thanks! Its been awhile. Really pumped about getting to work on it again. The guy I'm talking to about the engine hasnt gotten back to me yet, I'm expecting it wont be to expensive. A seal kit which comes with basically everything runs for about $70. So its labor thats gonna kill. So I'm going to try to do as much prep work for him as possible, disconnect everything, etc. As for the bed its an 8ft. Im having a hard time finding anything. I just want something with solid corners and anything that isnt to rusted up. Almost had one yesterday but it turns out the truck got hauled off for a demo derby. It apprently had a pretty nice bed, just my luck of course.
