egr valve evp sensor
The dealer said the cat was plugged...probably caused by the computer detecting a lean condition and feeding too much fuel. He said the egr and evp gave eradic readings. If the converter is plugged, would that cause them to give eradic readings? He didn't suggest replacing the o2 sensor even though it is original (70000 miles) as it must have been giving a proper check engine warning. My problem is lack of power. I am trying to do the fixing I can do for budget reasons. Are aftermarket valves and sensors equal to ford parts? Thanks, jm

I have wasted countless time and money with NAPA brand sensors and its my humble opinion that they are junk. I bought an EGR Pos Sensor and it was so far off that the engine light would come on at startup and it gave error codes. I bought a ECT (coolant temp sens) and it made my truck run like crap, so I bought a Ford one. I won't buy anything but Ford electronics from now on. I may a special case, but I'm done with NAPA.
