timing

Had my 94 F-150 4x4 5.0l in the shop for lack of power. Turned out to be the fuel filter. much better now but I seem to remember a little more. Anyway the ford house said my timing was 9 deg BTDC (which is pretty close to the 10 it is supposed to be) and that the computer timing was 29 deg BTDC. What is this computer timing and is 29 deg right? If it is wrong how do I fix it? Getting a cat back for fathers/birthday, is 3" too big for single pipe high flow cat and a flowmaster 70 series? I know 2.5 is recommended for true duals.

timing

Jimp,
Timing does sound correct. As far as the exhaust same truck with a 5.0. I replaced my stock exhaust with a high flow cat 3 inch exhaust and a flowmaster and noticed a gain.
I timed my truck from 0-60 before and after the modification and dropped the time by a whole second which doesnt sound like much but is a great gain when racing the clock.
Good luck.
