I tested my DPFE and only got a little over 3 volts so I replaced it. Now my transmission shifts really smoothly. Coincidence or resetting the PCM afterwards?

Neither. Most likely, the DPFE was defective (happens a lot).

I'd consider it a successful repair!

Guess that could be my problem. I had to replace a hose going to it. Caused a check engine light. How much was the new DPFE?

Foxy,

Found it at "National Auto Parts" website http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...?siteid=214126
for $48.00 Motorcraft original parts. I did notice that mine did rattle a little when I took it off and the new one didn't.
My local dealer wanted $106.00 for a new one and I knew that I had seen it for at least $65 or $70 at RockAuto.com or one of the other places, but National was the cheapest by far. $56 w/ freight. It didn't fix what I wanted it to fix, but it did fix the other problem that I had.

Good Luck!

Thanks again (by the way) projectSHO89. I appreciate your help and didn't mean to be rude by not answering sooner!
