temp gauge misreading
my temperature gauge runs up when I switch on the headlights or when the the fan is switched on I think the fault is in the instrument voltage control
but where is it located . the truck is an 88 model F150 extracab 4x4 5.8ltr automatic any help is welcome

There is an engine warning indicator module listed in 88 EVTM - no specific purpose listed but it is part of the instrument cluster. I would also suspect bad grounds to cluster and or gage elements. Do any other gauges vary when this occurs? They all appear to be connected to the same power and grounds. Good luck.
