hot lightswitch

I have a 95 f350 and the lightswitch gets hot as hell after 25 minutes when the lights are on
is there a way so it does not overheat?

regards George

Lmc truck has a harness to help prevent that. But you may want to go ahead and replace the switch too.

Yea, Change the switch before it melts. That usually means that the switch is dieing.

The LMC truck headlight wiring harness is an easy fix as it removes the current that runs through the switch through a remote relay instead. There are others that fabbed up a harness as well with heavier gauge wiring.

The heat is a symptom of the contacts inside the switch are in bad shape. Whatever you do, you should also replace the switch.

Another vote for LMC harness

No cutting of existing wiring. Plugs into existing headlight bulb plug on one side, then connect to battery positive and ground. Other existing headlight plug gets disconnected and not used. Harness has "new" plugs, controlled by the relay.

Quick, easy, and rather foolproof.

You can assemble a functional equivalent for less, but without the "bulb plug" in the harness, you'll have to cut into the light wiring on both sides.
