Looking for some kind of gun rack for a Ranger...Ive thought about the overhead style but a Ranger just isnt wide enough to use with a conventional rifle or shotgun. And Ive looked at the ones that mount in the rear window but those leave everything in plain view, the only other option Ive found is the kind that use a sling type thing behind the seat, but that wont work in an Ex-cab truck, and it makes it kinda difficult to get to it quickly anyway.
Was just curious if anyone had come up with any tricks or tips for mounting a useable gun rack in a Ranger. Or other small pickup. Thanks
Once upon a time, one could buy seat covers for bench seats which had a full-width pocket, allegedly usable for a shotgun. I had one on my 1980 F-150 and never used it for a long gun, but did put a bow in there. This was before much of the legislation currently in force.
The Pace Edwards Shelf-It might be workable, but you didn't want an overhead. Motorhaven doesn't seem to stock them, so do a web search.
