i need to know if the pinions between 73 and 76 had different spline counts or not.
here is the deal: i put a different rear end in the truck. bolted right up other than the e-brake cables were too short and got cut, will replace with the ones off of the old rear end. other than that things are going smooth until i try to hook up the driveshaft and find that the new rear end, which came out of a 76, has a different size connection at the pinion and the ujoint on the truck is too big.
i need to know if i take the old one off of the old rear end if it will just slide on and i have to retorque it, or if i need to change u joints, or worse, need a different drive shaft now.
