[b]97 Xlt Power Window Problem[/b]

Passenger front power window stopped working. It will go up (thankfully) but not down. This window would not work from it's own switch or from the driver's master switch. Window lockout switch is not enabled. All other windows work from both switches. I swapped switches with a working window to no avail. Window motor works both up and down when current applied directly to the leads by a battery charger. I have continuity from the switch plate thru the firewall to the harness connection so a broken wire at door hinge area is eliminated. Today I was able to install a jumper wire to the 2 switch pins that will allow me to operate the window, up and down, from the passenger switch only. I don't know why it won't work from both switches. I'm really stumped on this issue, anybody have any ideas?

The wiring diagram shows voltage to the switch is on the LB/BK wire. All the switch does is direct that voltage to the motor on the Y/R wire for up or the R/Y wire for down. Looks like the R/Y is open.
