Hey guys, read parts robbery part 2 post. Deleontow has me wondering if there is a recall on FDMs (fuel pumps) that cause cross filling and tank overflow. I've been to NTSB site and can't find any info. Is there a recall out on this, and where can I get some printed info to present to my Ford dealer? Also, am I the only one who CAN'T search this forum successfully. Can't get any search query to run, Kpayne...only get a "no-match" reply. Never had problems with this before.
Tim ,
http://www.alldata.com . Just select the Tsb /Recall section and then type in what vehicle you want to look at . Im pretty sure there is either a recall or Tsb on the problem you are having .

You didn't say what year and model you have but there was a recall on fuel tank cross flow on 1990-early 1993 F-Series, with dual fuel tanks. If you go to the NHTSA web site; click "Vehicle & Equipment Info", then on the right side of the next screen type in your vehicle, e.g. Ford Truck, F150, 1991. (no hyphen between F and 150) Its the first recall listed; # 93V125000.
The recall fix was to add two supply side check valves and a new pressure regulator. The fuel pumps, or FDM's, were NOT replaced. Also, more good news, the recall warranty was only good for 12 months/12,000 miles. Ford won't do it again at no charge. A little bizarre for a safety recall, I think.
