Long term effects of programmers

I noticed a considerable amount of you guys seem to have a programmer being used in your trucks. I own an 05 psd and am seriously thinking of buying a diablo predator. I am planning on keeping this truck till death do us part. Deep down inside I'm just worried about screwing it up. But I do have good maintence habits. How many of you guys are keeping your trucks to the end?? Or are most of you guys running programmers, keeping the truck 3-4 years then dumping it?? Any info is great info. Thank you

You should check out the Computer and Chips forum, or do some "tuner" searches in the 6.0L forums.

If you have all of the proper mods, exhaust, intake, guages, etc, and aren't making crazy power, I don't see any reason for concern.

You shouldn't have any problems running the mild tunes with out guages, but you really should have them.

There have been issues with some 6.0's (SOME not all) and coolant puking out of the overflow with the diablo and the superchips on the highest settings. Search the 6.0 section here to find some more info. Suposedly this has to do with the headstuds, but there have been some 6.0's that puked stock also. Read all the 6.0 threads you can find on tuners and then decide on what you want to go with.
My dad has a 6.0 and we have been digging on a good setup for his. As soon as I get the guages installed we are going to go with the SCT flash programmer.
