How true! I ordered poly bushings for my front and rear springs from JC Whitney a couple of months ago. They are two different diameters, it even states so in the catalog. They sent the same size. I returned the rears, and they sent the wrong size again. Third trip out, wrong size. Finally I sent them back with a nasty note telling them where to re-stock them; then refund my money. About a week later, I got the right bushings and a refund on my card. So they sort of made up for it.
But what really ticks me off is that I sent in the money for my Charles Atlas muscles when I was about 16, and I still haven't received them!!
And that's the worst part! He can't even weld the Weld's together cuz they're freakin' aluminum. There' GOT to be something cool you can do with em. How much are you askin for the remaining 3? Did you do a doubler or a twin TC, or just leave it stock?
Yeah, another gentleman on here was interested in the remaining 3 so he could buy a new one and put them on his truck. HA We spent 3 or 4 days calling everyone in the country and no one had any. So, that's great. The guy I bought the wheels and tires from said he will buy them back, but I want to try my luck on eBay with selling 'spares' since there's probably only 5 other full sets in existance. I wanted $500 out of the remaining 3(cost of ONE new one) but it's kind of pointless to try to sell a 'set'.
As for the transfer case, I built an adapter to bolt on the back of the transmission case in place of the original BW1356. This adapter houses a bushing and seal for the jackshaft. I used the original slipyoke, rear output bushing, and seal off of the original transfer case for the jackshaft. The splines and shaft diameter were exactly the same as the transmission output!! I mouned a NP205 20 inches behind the transmission. I filled the cavity in the transfer case adapter with ATF and the whole setup works beautifully.

Then again, I placed an order with Summit monday, and it arrived this morning. Theres no reason vendors should take a month + to fulfill basic orders.
Well summit had me ticked here recently so I guess it's my time to vent although before I start atleast you do get the parts in good time, but ordered studs for my A460 heads which have to be longer than stock got them, and they were too short. Called ARP the part number on the box was for the right ones, but the studs in the box were the wrong ones now this isn't summits fault they were miss boxed at ARP, so called summit and was told to send them back and they would send out the right ones. Sounds great right? well a week later I get a box from summit opened it up, and looked at the studs, same ones and I mean the exact same ones they sent the stupid box back to me I know cause I had put the nuts, and washers back into the little bags, and taped them instead of stapled like ARP does, and these had my tape on them so called summit, and the jerk tells me that it isn't possible cause the ones I sent back haven't even been restocked yet so they are still there at whick I replied ummm maybe they haven't been restocked because YOU SENT THEM BACK TO ME IDIOT. well this time they sent the new ones out without getting mine back yet but sent a call tag out with the new order that way they couldn't get mixed up, and finally after 2 months reimbursed me for the shippping so I guess in the end I really can't be too mad at summit cause they did fix it but don't call me a liar on stuff like that.
I got an email from Jack It today and this is what it read......Note -> I got this same email on 4/14/05.

Well, it appears that they are trying......Its really getting old, I coulda had this same kit from any other 4 wheel parts store a few weeks ago. I definately have learned my lesson.
I have a Pro-esque type story. I ordered a set of 16x10s from 4WPW. They figured out how to charge my card immediately. They said that the wheels should be in tuesday, and to me by thursday. Friday I called and asked what the story was. They hadn't heard of me! They looked in to it and said the same thing. The next week- no wheels. I called them and they hadn't heard of me again. Researched AGAIN, and said they were on backorder, and it might be 6 months or more. That's BS if ever there was some, because they got my money for a month and I got nothing. I cancelled and now I spout how bad I think they are every time I can. However, I do like their offroad adventures magazine.
Ramboss, I had a lengthy delay with Daystar bushings AND they were the wrong size when they finally did arrive. I didn't get them from Jack-It. Not to say those guys don't deserve a short drop and a fast stop but seems to me Daystar needs to get it together.

yeah, it seems like these type of situations make using a credit card come in handy. cause if the product never shows up or takes for ever, you just cancel the payment. im not too positive with visas and stuff but i know that amex is very good about making their customers happy.
My beef is with JBG. I ordered some springs from them, got those in a timely manner. Then I ordered a ARB locker and compressor, that also came in due time. Then I ordered another ARB for the front, sent one for the wrong ratio. Of course, with me being in Canada, I pay duty and brokerage fees on everything I bring in, so I ended up spending an extra $200 to get the right locker for the front. Next I ordered their bullet proof lift (note to those thinking about it, don't!) and nothing but problems. I ordered it in early November, and I didn't recieve it until the last week of March. I guess my e-mails of taking my money elsewhere finally got them to get it to me. Then, open the boxes up, wrong bushings, wrong shocks, no way of actually putting dual shocks up front with the parts they sent me. I'm now a local buyer only, no need for dealing with people 3000 km away who really don't care if you get the right stuff or not.
I talked to a local online vendor on the job once. He said credit card companies will stop payments on the drop of a hat. He sells paintball equipment online, and he runs into kids pulling all kinds of tricks. He says you can even goto a restaurant, pay for the dinner on a credit card, go home, call them up and say you had a horrible meal, and they will stop payment.
My luck with JBG has been pretty good but I did order my headers from them and waited 2 months. Nothing. I called them up and the guy said he'd check on them and call me back. Nothing. Called again and found out they'd been back ordered. I was annoyed with them so I cancelled my order and placed it with NTW who told me they had 1 set left. I paid and waited. 4 weeks later I still had no headers. Called again and they told me that my headers were back ordered. I was about to lose my mind but I ended up getting the headers about 3 weeks after that. So it took me almost 4 months to get those.
These are the reasons that I really like having 2 speed shops relatively local. Sure their prices are higher, but sometimes it's worth it in a time crunch.
