Rag Joint Supplier

My 1965 F100 pickup (2wd) has a really worn rag joint. Any supplier of these rag joints? I'm in a real rush cause it's my daily driver and it won't pass a safety inspection the way it is. I'm located in Vancouver, Canada.
Thanks.

Was going thru an LMC Ford truck catalog, not sure how current Feb of some year, and noticed couplings. Have not purchase from LMC can not vouch for quality. Thier part number is 45-0260, asking $50, not sure if still carry item. Suggest call if considering, assume picture includes the rag element. or try their web page. If time an issue may try trip to salvage yard..do not know what years coupling is interchangeable.

I just purchased one through NPD off their online catalog. It is the newer plastic rag joint. (truck drives like a dream now.).......

They are also listed in LMC on page 122 of catalog edition FB.23 (part number that Dave listed).
Good Luck!

You can find the rag joint in any Help! section. Help!(Motormite) products can be be found in out of the box parts stores like Autozone, Advance Auto, and Pep Boys. The rag joint is a common part that covers a lot of years. I think I paid around $5 for one for my '65 a few months back. If your paying more than $10 then you have been taken advantage of.

The Help ones are thinner then the stock one as they cover many MFG's. Spend the money once and get the ford plastic one. Trust me! I tow alot with my 65 and the help brand failed twice in one race season. Plastics been on it three years now.

The Help! one I got fit just fine and came with new shoulder bolts. The plastic joint is a good idea. I guess its all how you look at things. I would rather save several $$ on a part as long as the part is decent quality, as is the aftermarket joint. I guess nowadays there has to be a high performance version of everything. Even a rag joint. The concept is get folks to pay double for a virtually indesructable part. They come a runnin' $$ in hand. Fact is the darn thing doesent do anything at all.Any one I have ever seen break was due to age and dryrot. OK if you need a part that is going to be subject to some abusive situation like raceing or maybe four wheeling then go for the plastic. Realisticly though how many rag joints have you had to ever put on the same car. Most people will not own a car long enough to wear out a replacement joint of whatever quality.

You should do fine with your decision...

I have gone through several "help" section rag joints from Checker,Autozone, etc. and even though I found what I thought to be a thicker one they still seem to go south faster than I think they should.I have wondered if the heat from the headers might be adding to my problems...and I am looking for possibly a urethane version

This kind of brings us back to square one! Go to Ford and buy the plastic replacement joint. These Ford couplers fit and have the safety interlock if the joint fails. And you have the added benifit of a working horn. Trust me on this!
