As for aftermarket, I have to give a plug for my hometown - a company here called Master Power Brakes makes all the stuff to convert over. You'll find them listed in the back of the Classic Trucks magazines and others - surely on the web too. I think the kit runs around $600. The swap with junkyard parts seems to be cheaper.
I'm going for the same thing on my '66, but not until after I get the cab off and the frame cleaned. Welcome to the site. If you are like me, you'll be blown away by how much some of these folks know and how willing they are to share!
I've done the conversion on my 64....brake upgrade is awesome!!! But, it is not as simple as "bolting on" components and having great brakes!!!!!
First of all....you need to check out Master Power Brakes site 911Brakes.com to understand what is really involved in making the transition. The lower end install is pretty much a "no-brainer"....you can spring for the whole setup from MP Brakes....or get the mount bracket and purchase all the components from your local AutoZone, Discount, etc. I purchased the mounting kit from ECI....for about $100 (they listed all the necessary components to purchase locally)...got the rest of the lower end components from AZ.
The bolt-on is not overly challenging....however, there are several factors (that are pointed out by 911 brakes.com) that must be addressed. I went with an 88 Mustang Power booster/master cylinder/proportioning valve setup...fabricated my own mount bracket....used the Mustang residual valve....to make them function properly you'll have to modify your pedal ratio....things are getting a bit more critical.
Check out the brake sites....if you feel confident you can handle the upgrade....send me an email and I'll help walk you through it. Have some pix in my gallery that show the top end of the mod. Also many more that may help.
Dave
