I had the same problem with my '99. I had no idea that the rotors were so soft and just couldn't believe the pads would make the whole truck shake. So, hardheadedness won and I made the tech (not Ford - but a good shop) face the rotors again. He didn't complain - he was stumped too. After reinstalling the rotors and checking the runout - finding them within tolerance - we installed the pads and the vibration returned. We went through five different brands of pads until we found a good set. It went away and hadn't been back.
I am having a vibration in my front left that comes and goes I have checked out everything and it seems OK. I do get the pulse from time to time when I step on the brakes. Does this sound like the same problem? Will brake pads fix it? I have talked to several guys with the same problem but havnt found a solution. One guy should me his front tire and it was worn bad from his truck vibrating and tie rods etc are all good.
