'05 F350 SuperDuty,
The Key in the ignition with the door open caused that
ridiculous door chime forever.
I have found the key sense wire and killed it!!!
Grey connector just to the right of the steering column.
Black w/Purple stripe cut this wire. and no more chimes. YEAH!!!
I pulled the dashboard apart and found the actual chime.
it is sandwiched INSIDE the instrument cluster. You would have
to remove all the analog guage pins (speedometer, temp etc.)
to get this apart!!!
Hmm, good news. Does your truck have the logic where it will automatically unlock the driver's door if you lock all four and leave the keys in the ignition? Did it survive? I hate that feature and would love to get rid of it... maybe kill two birds with one stone.
(How2fish) - No problems with check engine, or anything else.
(tvsjr) - I just went out and played with it.
If I stand with the driver door open and press the lock button
on the door, it will pop the driver door unlocked immediately.
If I press the lock button on the remote, it stays locked. hmmmmm
But it does not know the key is in the ignition anymore, and the
chime is gone.... man, i hated that thing.
