Does anyone know if the front cab mount brackets for a '78 F-100 are available in the aftermarket? They're the ones that riveted to the frame.
I looked in the LMC catalog and the Classic Auto Parts catalog (formerly Obsolete Ford Parts) with no luck. Tried a bunch of other sites with the same result. As usual, the local dealers can't even look it up. I figure somebody has come across this before. Probably another weld it yourself fix. Right?
I had the same problem with my 77 F250. I looked everywhere. I finally had to have a good fabrication shop make me a set. I took them what was left of the old ones for a pattern, and they did a great job.
Rick, I looked and searched for a long time and found none available. I went to a salvage yard and found a nice frame from a southern truck. Someone had already taken all of the body, but those brackets were there. Some torching and grinding and 20$ later, and they were mine. Got any cooperative salvage yards near you ?
