That little hellion needs to be taken out behind the woodshed with a willow switch. The teachers did a good job by not getting too involved physically, and they called the police.

Now, her moma is suing the police. I understand the brat hit the attorney in the nose, and caused it to bleed.

Too many kids today are just left to their own ways with no parental control, and do like this one did, and figured they can do anything they want and get away with it.

In the case of your typical kid acting out, I would normally agree with you on this. However IMO, it's most likely the PARENT that needs to be taken out behind the woodshed, as they obviously have no clue as to how to raise a child.

I disagree with what the police did, handcuffing that child was incorrect!!!! I can't believe police are still getting caught on videotape either, when will they start thinking? Look for the cameras first, then arrest the criminals.
What really should happen in a case like that is two big bull female nurses should have put a straight-jacket on that kid, stuck a big needle in her butt, given her a horse-trank, and sent her in for re-programming. It is also obvious she needs new parents, and about twenty years of psychiatric help.

I agree that it is the parents that should be held responsible when their children do things like that. Many parents do not care about their kids and let them do what ever they want and then when the child can't have his or her way, then they throw a fit. Also there are too many parents who will use their child to gain something. I saw the video tape on the news and too me it looked like the girl may have been faking her temper tantrum in a way. I have seen kids her age throw tantrums and have never seen one like that one. I could be wrong about this, but it is possible.

It would not surprise me if they found out the parents told her to do this so they could sue the police dept and get some money out of it. People will do anything to sue somebody, especially police or other law enforcement. Just like the lady with Wendy's, people will do anything for money.

a little 5 y/o girl is throwing a tantrum at school. the girl had to be seperated from the rest of the class, then sent to the principal's office. She then begins hitting the vice principal and ripping pictures off of the wall. 3 police officers then come in and cuff her and take her away.

I give the law enforcement officers a round of applause. That girl has no idea what she's doing. I bet money that she hasn't seen her parents in a week. You'd have to live by yourself to think that was okay. To act like that... that's completely out of line.

Momma will be getting cash for that one, remember, the police are always wrong and when dealing with an unruly child, handcuffs were their only option to keep her from hurting them since you can't reason with her. Her flailing arms can be used to put an eye out as the officers are trying to deal with her, for those disagreeing, just what would you do? Obviously mom doesn't stop these fits at home, so she has learned it is effective, there will be problems getting a stop put to it in the future. Just what force do you want to allow to stop children, seems everyone wants to tie school hands in dealing with the kids, that incident pretty much showed you can't deal with that little angel without putting your hands on her.

The school officials are probably so cowed by today's "society" that they didn't know HOW to react thus calling the cops. LOL.

My wife and I watched this the other night and told OUR 5 year old if she didn't behave when SHE went to school sh'e be handcuffed by the cops too!!!
She replied that "But Mommy and Daddy I am supposed to be GOOD in school right?".

Why can't she feel the same way at home?? LOL.

But yeah. out of control kids seem to be becoming normal. But "MY GOD, Ya can't DISCIPLINE them!!" Uh huh....

If they called 911 in texas, They might have shot her!

Just threaten to take away there gameboys and snackie poo's, they'll behave. Kids are so materialistic with these toys, what happend to playing outside and kicking a soccer ball around or having a catch.

Lightbulb Hold on a second there!

Wait, stop, I say whoa there now!

Guys, does anyone else know what an Autistic/ADHD child looks like? If you don't, Mrs. Bear suggests you watch that videotape again. Pay particular attention to the hand/arm motions and the limited vocalization. The teachers were using classic Crisis Prevention Intervention techniques- separating the child and attempting to de-escalate the situation.

1. Seperate the child from other students.
2. Prevent the child from hurting herself.
3. prevent the child from hurting teacher/supervisor.
4. De-escalate the situation.

The teacher played this by the book. The police obviously weren't trained in this (why would they be?)- and their actions immediately took the situation and ran it right back to crisis mode. (she had calmed herself and was sitting rocking in a chair). The question is, why were the police called in the first place?

What gets me is,I dont care where I am at,either talking about it here,or at work,or while hanging out with friends,it seems that everyone agrees that children need to be taught right from wrong. And that 99% of them agree that if a child becomes that unruly, they need to be punished. So,what I want to know is,who was it that started all this garbage preventing our teachers and principal from having any way to control these kids?Man,when I was a kid,if you pulled something like that at school, the teacher would kick your fanny, then the principal, and then you prayed like heck that they would not tell mom and dad.And you know what?Nobody EVER took a gun to school,or a knife,or turned out to be an axe murderer. So who was it that let these clowns into the system?Kids now are becoming so disrespectful to each other and to adults. Now the answer seems to be,Oh little Johnny acts up at school?Well send him to clinic where they will dope him up and we wont have to deal with him!The scariest part of this is,everybody sees things are getting worse and worse, but yet these twits are still calling the shots! It is amazing to me how many children they diagnose these days with A.D.D.So lets just pump these kids full of dexedrine, thats the answer!Funny, when I was a kid,my old man used belts, fists,or anything that was within arms reach,So I learned real fast to behave.Although there were things that I disprove of such as slapping a kid across the face,I love my Dad,he taught me values, morals, and right from wrong!Today,I can take my children anywhere, and have been told multiple times how well behaved they are. Why?Because they dont want to get spanked! No belts,no weapons,no face slapping, just the bare hand to the seat of the pants.Another funny thing is,they are all teenagers now,and I cant remember the last time one of them got a spanking.
