Hi people, When I do a cold start, (first drive in the morning) my Excursion would not idle properly. Almost to a point of cutting out and I could hear the PVC valve rattleing but after 3 seconds of struggling it idles just fine. As the engine is turning (cranking) over I can hear the PVC rattle. The reason I thought it was the PVC because I can hear it rattle in the passanger side of the Ex. (the side the PVC valve is on) I also had someone start it for me while I listen as to were the sound if coming from. I can pinpoint it when I tell him to turn the engine off and hear it rattle. So I replace it thinking it was the PVC (cost me total 8.02 motorcraft part ) but it still idle weak for the first 3 seconds or so. I hope someone can help me because I hate to take it to the dealer and pay a 75 dollar an hour inspecting charge only to be added to the repair bill.
The Excursion is a 5.4 2wd (ya I know, not to many 5.4 Ex owners but i'll try the expy and navy fourms later.
thanks for any help.

yes it does and thanks alot.... Sorry for the late responds....
well I bought the Idle Air Control. For some reason Ford dealers called it Idle Speed Control.... Anyway I bought the part from Dale over at http://www.powerstrokeshop.com -great guy and service
Now my question is how in the world do you take one of them off. As looking at the pics below, the bolt heads are facing directly toward the firewall. Unlike the 5.4's engines in the F150's and the Expedition, their ISC/IAC bolt heads are facing toward the passenger firewall. What tools can help me get to them. (maybe a crazy/swivel head) The bottom bolt is even harder.
