Limited Slip Axle Preload Spring
Can anyone tell me how to remove the s-shaped pre-load spring from a Traction Lock 8.8 in rear axle? Goes on an '84 Bronco. All I need to do is replace a wheel bearing and seal, but can't remove the axle shaft with the spring in the way. And I can't get the spring over the ends of the axle shafts to push it out. Thanks!

The S spring stays where it is. Remove the spider pin bolt and slide the cross pin out. With the wheels and drums off, push the axles in which will clear the c clips from the side gears. Push the c clips out between the S spring and remove axle.
