Power Stroke Help

I am trying to help my brother out. He has a 1997 F-250 with the power stoke. He has 155k miles on it. Out of no where it has developed a weird problem. When driving(speed and RPM's do not matter) the truck will just die. No idiot lights come on no warning before hand. You can put the truck in neutral and start it right back up. We have taken it to the dealer and it shows no codes. It even died when the tech had it on the machine.

Has anyone had this problem? I am lost on where to start.

Cam Position Sensor (CPS). Easy to fix, you can pick one up at a local International dealer cheaper than the Ford dealership. Do a search on this site for CPS and you'll find lots of info.

Yup, cam sensor. Very common problem with the powerstroke.

I just wanted to add that I too think its the CPS, but there a a few other things that can cause a PSD to randomly die also, if the IPR is disconnected while running it will die, if two of the wires from the MAP sensor short together it will die also. not that I know that

.

I just wanted to share this if any one else has a problem with there PSD randomly dieing it could be more then the CPS, but it is most likely the CPS.
