That is some expensive wall art you have there! It's nice to have those things though. Good conversation pieces. Those heads are getting really good prices these days no matter the condition. What casting numbers if I may ask? G.

FFR428, the heads and timing plate are in storage at my dads house, sorry I don't have part numbers on hand.

I have some nice pic's of the SOHC, #1 complete engine, #2 with the timing cover off showing the chains and intake removed and #3 a cut away of the engine. But I'm stupid and haven't a clue how to post it here.

FFR428, on another note I had Tim Morgan (top fuel drag boat) and engine builder do a set of aluminum Rover heads. They were a thing of art after he was done, too nice to install.

GT nice pics. Man those are some sweet rides. Carl there are two variations on the iron cammer heads as I remember. Off hand I'm not sure the difference but think it was valve related or cam possibly. Also a small batch of aluminum heads for the cammer too. Dove at one time purchased the molds from Ford and made some poorly casted heads. I remember Mickey Thompson made some HEMI heads based on the old Chrysler design installed in his car. This car is still around and might have changed hands recently for a cool $500K. Carl, I remember the "Snake vs Mongoose" days well. What ever happend to Tom McEwen? G.

Tom McEwen must be an old fart today as I recall he was into Olds way back before he became "The Mongoose". Yesterday I was talking with one of my best friends who is 66 and was in Top Fuel up to 1972 with no sponsorships. Cost, crash and then death of a driver stopped his racing. He designed a transmission that was looked at by other racers, one who got a patent, that became Lenco. He still knows and talks about some of the older tuners and owners, great listening material. He retired from his custom automatic transmission shop, glad he built my C-6. I'm 52, was too young to remember the early 60's, dad and I went to Fremont and Bakersfield only. Dad was the one who got the aluminum Cammer heads for me. Ever see the Cammer headed motor made by a machinist "Gonzo" in Oakland, a history motor that was in the Oakland Roadster Show? It ran but didn't set any records.

Carl being those are aluminum cammer heads makes them very valuable. I know 75 sets were made in 66 but not sure of more were ever made. I can find out if your interested. Pretty cool your Dad got them for you. I don't think I've seen the engine you mention and let me know of you have any pics. Hey you have a good start on a cammer if you choose to do so someday.G.
