6.0 vs Hemi

I know someone who has a single cab short bed 2wd Dodge with a hemi. I know he has exhaust and a chip or programmer. He ran 14.8 at the track. I have a 05 crew cab FX4 short bed with a 6.0 with no mods. What would I have to do to beat him in a race? Would just a SCMT do it? and maybe 4" exhaust? Also what do these trucks run in the quarter stock?

There is a link to a short video clip on these forums somewhere that shows a modded f350 crew cab on a drag strip. It was a month or two ago but I think that truck was under 12 on the 1/4.

Maybe someone remember the thread, or something in the thread, to do a search. I can not seem to find it rght off.

I think I read somewhere else that the F-350 in that video was actually running a modified Cummins - or so they said

If the Hemi is running 14.8 you can clean him with 100 HP mode. The 60' time is awesome when you launch in 4 wheel drive. 1800 rpm and let it go.

I work with a guy with a hemi 2wd pickup and we just happen to be leaving work at the same time one day and I cleaned up with a stock 6.0.

Maxium 4x4...........I have always wanted to try the 4x4 with 100hp Diablo but thought it can't be good for the transfer case........... In 2wd foot on the brake, wind it up to 1500rpm and let off====================== till you have no tires left. What happen in 4x4? I've been chicken to try.............

Launch in 4x4 in a straight line is ok. Turning on dry pavement is not good. 1500 to 2000 rpm is best, above that the convertor is going to lock.

Try 4x4 around 1500 RPM and let it go. Stay on it....some launches it may wheel hop in the rear.....I am working on some home brew traction bars.

The power train is loaded so you have no shock to the transfer case.

Ok.........next time I don't have my work box on the back (2500lb see gallery) and I put the 100hp back in (I run 65hp all the time) I'll give it a try.

Yep.....Its 6' inside and lots of room..........and it comes off in 20 min. for those weekends you need just a P/U
