I have a '96 Bronco I'm installing an alarm on and need to know if the power door lock system is a 3-wire positive, 3-wire negative or 5-wire system - would like to know before I tear into it. Anyone know? Thanks in advance
My 90 bronco has 5-wire, so I needed 2 5-pole relays and a mess of wires for my alarm. There are some good sites on the internet that have alarm wiring diagrams for all kinds of cars.
My 90 was 5 wire also but my alarm was made to hook up to all kinds of systems and I didn't need any auxillary wiring. Check out a Haynes manual for wiring diagrams.
I'm gettin ready to do the same thing to my 94. Some good sites are www.th12volt.com and www.bulldogsecurity.com. They have wiring diagrams and everything. If you have the factory keyless you are gonna need some relays and a whole bunch of wiring. Autozone has the relays in the auxilary lighting section for like 4 bucks. Btw you can get a window module and another relay and wire your tailgate window too.
I got my truck with an alarm system and it never worked. I've been tempted to remove all the alarm system wiring. Anyone been able to successfully remove all the alarm system wiring?
