Help! 1987 Ranger Fuel Pump

My 87 Ranger pickup has been parked for some time.. Recently I tried starting the truck, it turns over but will not start. I also noticied that the fuel guage is not working and there is fuel in the tank. I've been told that the electric fuel pump and the fuel sending unti are all in one, and located within the tank. I've also been told that if one is not working then the other is not working either and power has been lost to the unit. I assume there is a fuse or a breaker somewhere, I've checked the fuse panel inside the cab but there is no fule pump or sedning unit listed. Can someone tell me where I might find the fuse or the breaker for these units so I can check them?
