NEW GUY: Alarming Question
Can the alarm module on a 1992 F-150 be permanently unplugged without doing damage to the truck's electronics? My remote won't disengage the starter kill switch so I disconnected the alarm module and the engine started OK but I don't want to run it in that condition if it would damage the electronics over time.. would greatly appreciate a reply from anyone with experience in this area.. thanks.. Simple Question Simple Answer
Will the electronics (modules, computer, etc) on a 1992 F-150 be damaged if the alarm module is permanently unplugged? The alarm module has malfunctioned and unit's starter kill switch prevents crankig... BUT the engine starts OK after I unplug the alarm module... QUESTION: can I continue to drive the truck with the module unplugged without damage to the system? Will greatly appreciate some expertise in this area.. thanks.

If the headlights, horn, courtesy lamps, and door lock swithes all still work properly after you pull the alarm module plug to start the truck, then I don't see any problem with what you are doing.
